Detail of an isometric apartment floor plan lit with red, pink and blue lighting. A party is taking place across time and space with Indian social reformers Savitribai Phule, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Periyar in attendance. Savitribai waves at a blue panther walking across the dining room. Large stalks of millet overflow from a nearby closet. Tentacles emerge from the floor of a bedroom. Wild, spiked tongues stick out a bathroom window.
Party Office is an anti-caste, anti-racist, trans*feminist art and social space founded by Vidisha-Fadescha. This illustration was created for the upcoming Documenta Fifteen exhibit catalogue, using the floor plan of Party Office's physical space in New Delhi, India as a way of imagining the space socially. The partygoers included in the illustration span several centuries, positioning Party Office in the past, present and future. Surreal and otherworldly elements also fill the space.
Full view of the isometric illustration. Different areas include a dreamy bedroom with pink clouds and neon lighting, a steamy bathroom with a person relaxing in a bubble bath, and a bedroom with a variety of kink structures. Floating eyeballs and giant teeth appear in different rooms. A disco ball hangs from outside, surrounded by clouds. Fatima Sheikh, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Phoolan Devi and Bisra Munda are also in attendance.
